(Ironically) Part of the Team
I don’t want to sound whiny or cliche, but as a woman in sports you often feel like an outsider–especially so if, like me, you have to enter the clubhouse on a regular basis. I have never run into a problem, but I have also never felt like I’ve been included or accepted–until now.
A couple of days ago, I wrote a post on the recent shaving cream shenanigans taking place during the post-game interviews. I should’ve known to keep my big mouth shut.
Check out the video of last night’s interview.
I knew Brett Jackson had it coming, but ME?! Never even saw it coming. In fact, I turned and saw Logan Watkins, made eye contact with him and thought to myself: “Yes, Logan’s going to get Brett too! This is awe–” SPLAT! In my face…my mouth, my nose, my eye. Morning after, and I can still taste men’s Barbasol in my mouth.
Eh, with all of the young guys in the clubhouse I guess that had to find some kind of use for the shaving cream–because they sure as heck can’t grow any facial hair. (Sorry, cheap shot, but I had to get it in).
