Who Said Sundays Were Boring at the Ballpark?

When I first arrived in Boise, I was warned that Sundays are painfully slow for us as far as crowd size, crowd involvement, etc.  But with two Sundays already under my belt, I must say that they have been my absolute favorite days of the first two homestands.  True, we don’t have an overwhelming crowd on Sundays, but it seems like we make them fun anyway.

Last week it was freezing cold, and we happened to keep the crowd alive with some awesome dancing skills by our ushers; I even received a comment in-game on Twitter that said “@BoiseHawksOC You guys got it going this year, its light rain and you have us pumped up having fun, if anyone hasn’t come they need to get here”.

Hawks nation Charity (Small).jpgBut this Sunday took the cake!  As part of our Seven Deadly Sundays promotions where each Sunday is based on one of the seven deadly sins, we raffled off two members of the front office staff for dates as part of lust night.  Our major focus was on the charity the proceeds from the raffle were going to–Hawks Nation Charity; all money from Hawks Nation goes back into supporting youth sports in the Treasure Valley.

The raffle was a huge success with the contestants going head-to-head in a dizzy bat race, potato race and the dance-off.  The catch was that each person had to promote themselves and go around the stadium to try to sell as many tickets as possible–and to raise as much money for the charity as possible.

Check out our two contestants and their pitches on why Hawks’ fans should by a raffle ticket and support the Hawks Nation Charity.

Really throughout the night it was neck and neck between the two contestants, but there was definitely a turning point when one of them pulled ahead of the other–the dance-off.

Check out this footage and find out who the winner was, not only of the dance-off, but of the friendly office competition to sell more tickets.

This Sunday was definitely one to remember…and I forgot the best part of the night… HAWKS WIN!!

I can’t wait to see what next Sunday brings!
